About the Play
Have you ever wondered what your pet is thinking when she looks up at you with adoring eyes? Or how a stray dog could turn a couple’s life completely upside down? When Greg, a middle-aged man going through a midlife crisis, unexpectedly brings home Sylvia—a spirited and outspoken dog he finds in Central Park—his world is turned upside down. Sylvia, played with boundless energy by Juliet Pearson, is no ordinary pup; she talks, thinks, and charms her way into Greg’s heart. However, Greg’s wife, Kate, played by Danielle MacMath, isn’t quite as smitten. As Greg becomes increasingly attached to Sylvia, tensions rise, leading to moments of heartfelt reflection, laugh-out-loud humor, and unexpected self-discovery.
Through this unique and insightful lens, Sylvia delves into themes of love, purpose, and the ways in which unexpected relationships can redefine our lives.
