A Day in The Life of an ACT Jr Camper! Told by: Raina Solitaire

Hi! My name is Raina. This is my 5th year in ACT Jr. Musical Theatre Camp and I play The Sour Kangaroo in ACT Jr.’s production of Seussical Jr!! In the past I have played Grace in ACT Jr’s production of Annie Jr., I have played Ariel in ACT Jr’s production of The Tempest, I have played Peach in ACT Jr’s production of Finding Nemo Jr., and tons of other fun roles!!!

Today we started the day by warming up and doing vocal exercises. After warming up we split into groups to do different things! This morning I did staging, we staged the end of the show/The People vs Horton The Elephant. Then we had a snack, the snack that was provided was watermelon! After snack we staged a few scenes and the last half of Monkey Around (you will love it!). After that we had lunch! I sat with my friends, Josie, Julia, Eloisa, David and many others! I had a delicious lunch, a NYC everything bagel with everything cream cheese! After lunch I went to the trees for a nice break. I hung out with Joisie and Libby! From there I went to substitute as the Sour Kangaroo for the other cast and they learned the other half of Monkey Around. Then we went to music! We learned Solla Sollew ( The prettiest song in the show, Also the saddest! Don't worry I included a clip of it…) . After we learned Solla Sollew we learned the Finale of the show! After that we had a Friday treat! We had…Popsicles! And that was our day!

I am enjoying the creativity and the community this show brings ACT Jr!

My favorite part of being in ACT Jr. is being able to do what I love doing (Theatre)and having such a supportive community to do it with!

My favorite line in the show is “A person is a person no matter how small!”. I chose this line because I think this is an important thing to hear and think about.
