A Day in The Life of an ACT Jr Camper! Told by: Kat Scott

Hi! My name is Kat, this is my fourth year at ACT Jr. Musical Theatre Camp and I play Miss Hannigan in ACT Jr.’s production of Annie Jr! My first role was in Frozen Jr. and I played Handmaiden. My second role was in Matilda Jr. and I played a big kid. My third role was in Finding Nemo Jr. and I played Professor Ray.

Today we started by stretching and doing vocal warmups. After that we got our scripts and water bottles and headed to the theatre for a sing and dance through. If you don't know, that's when you focus on the music instead of the talking parts. About halfway through that we stopped for a snack where we had rice krispies and cookies to celebrate two birthdays. After snack we finished the sing and dance through. After that was all done we broke for lunch and recess. When we were finished with that we then went and had a cool down. We then went and did a run through of the whole show.

Annie Jr. has definitely been my favorite show so far! Not only do I have a great role but my friends have great roles! The choreographer Clara is really fun and great at teaching dance. The director Abbie is amazing and is really helpful if you have a problem. Though it's hard to say what part of this production is my favorite, I know that I can say I love every bit of it.

My favorite part of being in ACT Jr. is making all the new friends! I've made many friends through this program like Sutton, Raina, Josie and David to name a few! ACT JR. is a great environment to learn how to sing and act whilst also having fun with friends!

My Favorite line in the show is when I say “Rotten orphan” to Annie after I catch her sneaking out.
