A Day in The Life of an ACT Jr Camper! Told by: Josie Flaster

Hi! My name is Josie Flaster, this is my 4th year at ACT Jr. Musical Theatre Camp and I play Miss Hannigan in ACT Jr.’s production of Annie Jr! I’ve played the Cook and Hidden Folk in Frozen Jr., Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rudolfo in Matilda Jr., Miranda in The Tempest, and Marlin in Finding Nemo Jr.

To start today off, the whole camp did warm ups including scale and enunciation exercises. Then we separated into groups based on cast. Red Cast ran through the second half of the show while Yellow Cast did projection and line exercises. Then we had a snack and played outside for a little while. After that, Yellow Cast ran the second half of the show while Red Cast did projection and line exercises. Then we had lunch. We played outside and elected a new king and queen for our little kingdom. After that, the Red Cast ran the whole show with new props while the Yellow Cast chilled and did crafts. Then we switched. That took the entire afternoon.

I love being in Annie Jr because there really aren't any ensemble roles. Everyone has at least one line and it's very inclusive. Everyone in the cast is very fun to work with and I’m in scenes with a lot of them.

My favorite part about being in ACT jr is that once you become older you start to slowly get more privileges and eventually you become a counselor.

My favorite line from the show is when I say “BRAT” at the end when Annie uses my own words against me.

We can’t wait to put up our show! We hope to see you there!
