A Day in The Life of an ACT Jr Camper!

Hi! My name is Dahlia, this is my second year at ACT Jr Theatre Camp, and my first year being an ACTivator! Last year, I was “Michael” in Matilda, and I came back as an ACTivator because I knew it would be a fun way to be involved in Theatre at Artistree, and mentor the younger campers!

Today was Water Wednesday! When we first got to camp we did some warm up activities and a shake down. The schoolyard actors and the tank gang actors practiced lines and played a fish version of red light green light. Some of the actors who created a small band called “Cray Cray Train” wrote a very silly song called “California” about some cray cray ducks.

After our morning snack/break the turtles practiced the song "Go with the Flow" and our sharks did some choreography practice! We also practiced some character movement for the barracudas. Before lunch we learned the song, "Just Keep Swimming" and the choreography for "We Swim Together."

Before the water part of Water Wednesday started, we did some blocking for the prologue and the schoolyard scene. Unfortunately it started pouring and we got a little more wet than expected! Some brave campers decided to play in the water outside but some others decided to chill inside with crafts for the remainder of the afternoon.

Four outdoor performances on August 15 and 16 @ 6pm and August 17 @ 1pm & 4pm
We can’t wait to put up our show! We hope to see you there!
