Summer Theatre Internship: Set Building
Set it up! Gain an introduction to the world of theatre set design and construction. Over the course of two days you will develop a general understanding of theatrical hardware, stage painting techniques, and modern theatrical construction. You will apply your learning to a real-world production through hands-on experience building and painting the set for ArtisTree’s summer production Into the Woods, Jr. See your work come to life on opening night! No prior experience required.
Craig A. Mowery hails from Vermont where he is a proud member of the IATSE Local 919 and serves on their Executive Board. Craig received his BA in Theatre from Castleton State College. His past production credits include Sandglass Puppet Theatre, North Carolina Theatre, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, and Music Man: In Concert featuring Shirley Jones. Craig worked for Opera North for 8 years serving as their Master Electrician and advancing to Technical Director. He currently runs his own production company called Simple Scenic and is the Technical Director for Pentangle Arts. He also works for various schools and companies around the Upper Valley including Hanover High School, Lebanon High School, and City Center Ballet.
Ben Fox, LCMHC, ArtisTree Art Educator & Coordinator, is a local expressive arts therapist with a long and diverse history of art and trades experience. A stained glass artisan in his youth, Ben sought further arts education at RISD and the Pilchuck School of Glass. Ben has a Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies and a B.A. in Studio Art from Hamilton College. He has taught and worked in various creative fields such as making outdoor clothing and bags, fine woodworking, photography, and lately outdoor sculpture.
