Sing, Say, Dance & Play! Family Intro to Orff
Join us for singing, creative movement, instrumental exploration, stories, and lots of fun! Caregivers and children will experience delightful songs, dances, and musical activities that focus on singing, timing, coordination, listening, and language. Each class introduces the world of Orff Schulwerk, an approach designed to build musicianship in every learner. Using drums, bells, shakers, glockenspiels, and the high-quality Orff instruments, as well as puppets and quality props, children will experience a variety of ways of making music. Share the love of music, the fun of movement, and the freedom of self-expression through the process of everyone interacting, bonding, and making music together. Come to as many classes as you like!
Sarah Quade has been teaching music for over 20 years as a private oboe instructor and early childhood music and movement specialist. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees of music from the University of Michigan and has additional certificates in early childhood development. Sarah received Orff Schulwerk training from George Mason University and Lynn Kleiner and is a certified music and movement instructor through Music Rhapsody and the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association. Using the Orff approach, a philosophy that acknowledges the creative input of every child, Sarah's classes include musical games and activities designed to stimulate creativity and encourage children to learn the elements of music naturally, through play.
