Mindful in Vermont

Explore awareness and concentration through Mindfulness Meditation.

Mindfulness Meditation is a natural state of awareness and concentration. The practice of mindfulness meditation is affordable and portable. 

Join with others as we commit to sit on Monday evenings. The sits will include a teaching, a guided meditation, and time for a shared reflection. The teachings are selected from the earliest Buddhist teachings that hold relevance for the world as we know it. 

Topics will include the Four Noble Truths, The Eightfold Path, and practices of Self-Compassion.

Susan Mordecai has been teaching mindfulness meditation for over 10 years. She has been fortunate to have had many wonderful teachers as she learned how to be comfortable within her own practice and ways to support others as they take to the cushion. Susan has practiced with Jon Katat-Zinn (MBSR: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), Daniel Rechtschaffen (Mindful Education Institute), Jack Kornfeld Mindful Education Institute), Vinny Ferraro (Mindful Education Institute), and Chris Willard (Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.)  Susan also holds several certificates to teach mindfulness and has com Througpleted a master’s thesis on mindfulness practices for students and teachers as part of her studies at Columbia University.
