Kundalini Yoga: An Adventure in Bliss
Experience a unique mix of movement, breath work, and chanting that will enliven your entire being! This class is geared towards newcomers to the practice of Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness. Unlike many yoga styles, we focus more on energy awareness than on accomplishing a specific pose. Instead, we use accessible, dynamic movement and different types of breathing methods to develop our attention to the energies of our bodies. Some short chants will be introduced to help practitioners see the overall context of this work--to explore the true nature of the soul. This practice is known to create mild euphoria, so join us to feel the bliss!
Miss Amanda, RYT-500, has been teaching various styles of yoga since 2005. She has gravitated towards Kundalini yoga because she has experienced its powerful transformation in her own life and wants to share the bliss with others. Miss Amanda lives in the ledges of Barnard with her husband and does a therapeutic style of Thai Yoga Massage out of her home studio.
