Introduction to Stained Glass
Spend the day exploring the art of stained glass. In this introductory-level class we will move through the techniques of stained glass pattern making, glass cutting, and soldering by creating a beautiful feather in colorful glass. Each student will choose from a selection of feather patterns & colorful glass and leave with a finished piece and basic knowledge of the stained glass process. No previous stained glass experience necessary.
Stained glass art makes a wonderful Mother's Day gift! Or...sign up with your mom and enjoy the class together!
Participants should wear closed toe shoes and work clothes. Bring a lunch and drink; we will take a break for lunch and get outdoors to enjoy the spring weather.
Please note that, due to the use of lead in the soldering process, do not register if you are pregnant.
Dayna Sabatino studied stained glass in the Bay Area of California where she worked in all aspects of the industry. Building artworks one piece of beautiful glass at a time was a natural fit for her. Over the years there she taught courses in many techniques of stained glass and mosaic art, built commissioned works on her own and for other artists, and performed restorations, from small lampshades to large church windows. After returning to the East Coast, she landed in Vermont where she married her husband and became a mother. Currently, when not busy working on their homestead, Dayna is creating one-of-a-kind works of glass art, taking commissions, and teaching workshops around New England.
