The timeless art of woodblock is fun to do! Come design, carve, and print a small block. Woodblock printing is a lovely way to make holiday cards and personalized framed gifts. You’ll learn the basics from in-class demonstrations as well as individualized instruction. After practicing in class, you will be able to continue making woodblock art in your own home or studio. All tools, paper, selection of inks, and woodblocks (4"x 6") are supplied. Intermediate-level participants are welcome to join this beginner class, too. Let’s inspire one another!
Joan Hoffmann attended Colorado State University Fine Arts Department, Banff School of Fine Arts, and the University of Lyon in France. Over the years Joan’s career has consistently united artwork and environmental advocacy. She has painted, taught, and presented work at numerous national parks. Following her residencies in Yosemite (2005) and Marsh Billings Rockefeller (2016), she will be an artist-in-residence in Zion in 2019.
