Discover the wonders of stop-motion claymation as we play with the concept of transformation. You might already be familiar with the clay animation in TV programs such as Wallace & Gromit and Gumby. In this camp you will work in a small group and sculpt your own flexible characters with modeling clay. Together you'll build 3D sets and create an original story line. Using a video camera, you'll shrink, transform, and morph your characters one frame at a time. When the shooting is done, record an original soundtrack to complete your video. The finished movies will be posted to YouTube!
Meredith Holch has taught animation to Vermont kids for over a decade. Her own animation has screened at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, The Exploratorium, SF, the National Gallery of Art, DC, and in numerous international film festivals. Meredith's work has been broadcast on PBS and community TV stations throughout Vermont and NYC. She brings the same passion to teaching that she does to her independent filmmaking.
