This class is for anyone willing to explore the limitations of the body and open their mind to its healing potential. Avita® Yoga is about improved health. It is for anyone who wants to delay feeling the effects of aging and restore a sense of youth.
Through a variety of sequences, the practice is a way to build natural strength while resolving harmful, negative patterns. Perhaps the most powerful benefit is the calming impact it has on the nervous system and mind. The practice is designed to not only work on you during the class but for hours, if not days, afterward.
Most of the sequences are done lying on one's back with legs up the wall. We target the neck, shoulders, knees, hips, ankles. There are some hand/fingers and foot/toes work, as well! Each shape is a meditation in and of itself. Come see what it's all about! No experience is necessary.
For this class, please bring a yoga mat and bolster pillow. (Participants will be lying down on their mats and pillows so personal ones are preferred to maintain best health practices.) Please wear comfortable exercise clothing that does not restrict movement. For more about Avita® Yoga please check out https://avita.yoga/.
Lisa Repp Parsons received her 200-hour certification in Iyengar-based Hatha Yoga at YOGAspirit Studios in 2004. She taught for 16 years in Marbelehad, MA. In 2018 she discovered Avita Yoga on a visit to see family in Boulder, CO and was so taken by the practice that in 2020 she became a licensed Avita Yoga Instructor, working with founder, Jeff Bailey, at YogaLoft in Boulder. She resonates with the fact that Avita integrates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga. The practice asks one to listen to the innate intelligence of the body…letting go of Ego. Her style seeks to help one cultivate an awareness and sensitivity of the unity and connection between ourselves and the Nature around us. A sense of humor and curiosity are integral to her classes. She hopes that the “lessons you learn on your mat are ones you will carry with you into the rest of your life”, remembering to bring a smile to your face, open your heart and breathe!
